Unveiling of MR's policy manifesto postponed

Unveiling of MR's policy manifesto postponed Featured

It has been decided to postpone the unveiling of UPFA Presidential candidate Mahinda Rajapaksa's policy manifesto until Dec. 26, government sources say.

The event was earlier scheduled to be held at 9.30am tomorrow (Dec. 22) at the BMICH, Colombo.

It has been decided to make several amendments due to conflicting viewpoints over several policy matters included in the manifesto.

Reports say that the left-wing parties of the government have strongly pressed to include that executive presidency should be abolished while MP Namal Rajapaksa has pressed to reserve 40% of the next cabinet of ministers for youth MPs.

UPFA leaders are currently discussing these matters at length, reports add.
