Funds have been used for the election campaign of President Mahinda Rajapaksa, jeopardising the financial situation of three state banks and several state funds, 'Lanka Truth' reports.

The situation in Samurdhi Development Bank, Regional Development Bank and National Savings Bank is serious, website adds.

'Ms. W.A. Nalini appointed as the Chairperson of National Savings Bank, uses finances of the Bank for various projects of Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa while Ms. Keshala Jayawardene, the Chairperson of Regional Development Bank, too is spending money of the bank for various projects Mr. Rajapaksa’s campaign,' the website further says.

It also says that funds of Samurdhi recipients in Samurdhi Development Bank too, are running dry.
