The man was taken in at Akuressa town yesterday (22).

He had reportedly contacted the families via telephone numbers given in newspaper advertisements asking for kidney donations.

Expressing agreement to donate his kidneys, he used to ask them to send him, via mobile phone, Rs. 10,000 as travelling expenses.

He has been identified as a 37 year old father of three.

He is due to be produced before courts today.
