Perera says attempts to show this as a political matter will discourage foreign investments and deny an opportunity to correct the wrongs already committed through bogus deals.
Gammanpila’s arrest will not hinder the opposition from carrying on with its intended objectives, and its politicization will only go to protect fraudsters, says the attorney license holder.
He points out that despite having lodged complaints since 2005 in connection with the share sale fraud committed by Gammanpila against Shedrick, an investigation was launched only in 2015.
