Recently, he was arrested by DIG in charge of Hambantota and Matara Sumith Edirisinghe, while driving a Land Cruiser with garage numbers, and several fake number plates were found from his possession.
Upon arrest, Kiwlegedara has produced an identity card claiming him to be the media director to the prime minister and also that he was the Siyambalanduwa electoral organizer.
However, Edirisinghe knew there was no such electorate and paid more attention to the suspect.
Further investigations revealed the man had rented the Land Cruiser, with the no. 65-2900, from one Vindana of Kamburupitiya.
Also, it came to light that the 38-year-old has defrauded more than Rs. 1,500 million through his Touchwood company.
From Rideepana in Badulla, he also has a court case pending against him in relation to a Rs. five million from a stone quarry in Gampaha.
