Commissioner General of Department of Registration of Persons, R.M.S. Sarath Kumara stated that they have received a 75,000 application forms and another 25,000 through mobile services.

The department is in the process of issuing ID cards for these applicants in the coming five to six days, he added.

Speaking further, he noted that they are trying their best to issue ID cards for those applications that are received after December 15 and that temporary ID cards will be issued before January 08 if they are unable to issue permanent ID cards to these applicants.
