Will hit the streets if MR doesnt obtain 50% - PNM Featured

Opposition political parties are making plans to move onto the streets before a second count is done if President Mahinda Rajapaksa does not obtain more than 50 percent of next month's vote, the Deshiya Hithishia Movement (National Patriotic) head Prof Gunadasa Amerasekera said.

The disclosure was made after the Deshiya Hithishia Movement opened an Operations centre in Borella on Tuesday.

"This election will decide the destiny of the country and if President Mahinda Rajapaksa loses, a leaderless situation can follow. Problems in this country can be solved internally. But finding solutions outside the Geneva convention can also be a remote possibility. That is why we need a Force to save the country from conspirators. Chandrika, Ranil and Maithripala are all part of this external conspiracy and that is why it has to be defeated before the country is put on the wrong path", said Prof Amerasekera.
