The reason is that the pipe taking water to the road’s residents remains broken for this duration.
When there is internal pressure on the pipe, water comes out, and when there is no internal pressure, muddy water goes inside, people say.
Despite several complaints, the National Water Board’s regional branches have taken no action to repair the broken pipe.
Drinking this muddy water has caused stomach ailments for the St. Maria Road residents.
Most of them had voted for the UNP at the last election, and they say they are now paying for that sin.
