He made the announcement at a Press conference held today (December 17).
Gammanpila and several others in the JHU left the government and decided to support Common Opposition Candidate Maithripala Sirisena at next month's Presidential election.

He subsequently went back to the government for reasons best known to him.
But JHU head Ven. Omalpe Sobitha Thera said Gammanpila left for personal reasons and not due to differences over Party policy.
