The high court considered a revision application made by the attorney general against chief magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya’s order previously to free the elephants for purposes of the Vesak festival and pageants.
The Colombo high court today (26) set aside, effective until June 09, a magisterial order that permitted releasing 15 unlicensed elephants and tuskers to their owners on Rs. 30 million bonds each.
