Pathirana, the former leader of the House in the EPC, crossed over in support of Sirisena when the latter contested the presidential polls.

Meanwhile, a reshuffle in ministerial positions is expected in the seven PCs under UPFA control within the next few days, according to SLFP general secretary Duminda Dissanayake.

President Sirisena will announce the changes and the effective date soon, Dissanayake said.

In the reshuffle, those who had not supported the party reforms and the president’s programme to develop the country are likely to lose positions, he added.
