The adverse weather related death toll has now risen to 92, says the Disaster Management Centre’s spokesman Pradeep Kodippili.

Also, 109 persons still remain unaccounted for, following incessant rains, floods and landslides.

Most of the casualties have been reported from the landslides in Aranayake and Bulathkohupitiya.

From the two places, bodies of 53 dead have been recovered so far.

The National Building Research Organization says Aranayake and Bulathkohupitiya as well as Yatiyantota are vulnerable to further landslides.

Also, Mawathagama, Ridigama and Mallawapitiya areas of Kurunegala district have been issued with landslide warnings.a
