A man died and two women were rescued after a mound of earth buried their house in Eheliyagoda.
The Disaster Management Centre said 89,833 people have been affected, and 31,851 of them have been sheltered at 106 temporary camps.
Around 150 houses have been damaged, said director of the centre Pradeep Kodippili.
People living in low-lying areas close to Kelani River are being evicted.
