Sri Lanka has the potential to become developed like Bangkok in another 10 to 15 years, says president of AVIC International Hotels Lanka Ltd., Zhong Yuan.

He was speaking at a real estate exhibition at the convention and exhibition centre in Colombo.

Bangkok is presently way ahead in Sri Lanka in infrastructure and economically, he observed, adding the island could achieve similar development without copying Bangkok.

Yuan also said Sri Lanka could experience a growth in real estate sector in the future.

Astoria, a 608-block, 400-storey residential apartment project under construction in Kollupitiya by AVIC International Hotels Lanka Ltd., was the main sponsor for the exhibition.
