As the first step, Geetha Kumarasinghe, Salinda Dissanayake and nine other followers of Basil, who is leading to hold a separate May Day rally in Kirulapone, were removed as electoral organizers, said the senior minister.
A majority of MPs in the SLFP is opposing moves to divide the party, but Basil and his followers are trying to divide the party in order to give advantages to the UNP, he charged.
