Around 233 MPs, provincial council and Local Government members from the Gampaha District have pledged to attend the May Day Rally of the Joint opposition which will be held in Kirulapone, internal sources say.
It is said that 209 out of the 230 LG members and 20 out of 26 provincial councillors of the SLFP in the District are to join the rally.
in addition, half of the 08 SLFP MPs in the district are to do the same, reports add.
The rally will be held under the auspices of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
