Police have found a list of the names, including a prison superintendent, following the arrest of the person who is in charge of Dematagoda Chaminda’s financial affairs.
He was taken by the anti-vice squad during a raid at Samanala Uyana at Kirimandala Mawatha in Narahenpita, along with five grams of heroin.
The man is said to be a close associate of a supervising MP of the former regime, through whom he had got to know Dematagoda Chaminda.
A 158-page book found from him details how Rs. 30,000 was given for a New Year party for prison officers and four police stations are paid by the underworld figure.
Everytime Dematagoda Chaminda is visited at prison, a sum of Rs. 30,000 is taken there and out of which Rs. 5,000 paid to the prison officers who coordinate the meeting.
Furthermore, lawyers fees amount to Rs. 500,000 and a Buddhist monk given Rs. 150,000.
The book also details Dematagoda Chaminda’s connections with major businessmen.
