He was speaking in Anuradhapura yesterday (11) at the first election rally of the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) as part of the President’s election campaign.
“I will make the constitutional changes but it will be what the people want through a referendum.. Today, these people have nothing to say. Can they say that roads will be built? Electricity will be given? Or whether the country is not developed or the war is not over?” he said.
However the President added that the LTTE is still active and that their network is operating overseas.
