HRC employees to file HR case

HRC employees to file HR case Featured

The standards laid down for selection of permanent directors to the Human Rights Commission have come into question.

Presently, the commission has acting directors, and four positions remain vacant.

According to reports reaching Sri Lanka Mirror, employees of the commission should complete 17 years of service in addition to having studied law as a mandatory subject.

However, outside applicants need to have completed only 15 years of service.

Commission employees told SLM that they would file a human rights case in the supreme court against these unreasonable requirements.
