He considered a request by the CID when taking up the case pertaining to the enforced disappearance of journalist Prageeth Ekneligoda.
The CID told the court that Ekneligoda had been taken from the Giritale MIC by a team led by one of the suspects, a colonel, to Akkarapattu.
The acting magistrate further remanded the nine suspects, all Army intelligence men, until April 26.
