He was speaking at a media briefing in Colombo today (18).

Noting that there cannot be two party leaders in a single party, the minister added that the SLFP will work according to the decisions of the party leadership and the party CC.

Accordingly, the party rally for May Day will be held in Galle this year and a decision should definitely be taken against those who do not participate, he further said.

Addressing the media briefing, State minister - Lakshman Seneviratne said that many MPs representing the joint opposition will cross over to the government in the near future.

Noting that 90% of them are against the party being split, the minister said that they are prepared to back the government's agenda.
