SLFP seniors led by minister Nimal Siripala de Silva have asked the president for the FCID’s abolition, according to reports.

In its place, a new entity called the Financial & Economic Investigation Agency is to be established.

Its head will be present head of the FCID, senior DIG Ravi Vidyalankara.
