Sri Lanka’s Prof. Arjuna de Silva has been unanimously elected president of the South Asian Regional Anti Doping Agency (SARADO) for a four year term.

He was chosen at an election on April 13 in the Maldives under the supervision of the World Anti Doping Agency.

Prof. de Silva said he would implement an extensive anti-doping programme for the region.

He told Sri Lanka Mirror that his appointment was a mark of international recognition of Sri Lanka’s contributions towards curbing banned drugs.
