Indrachapa searching for a drop of love

Indrachapa searching for a drop of love Featured

Indrachapa Liyanage - The voice resonating of radical romance, says he is still searching for a drop of love.

Speaking to ‘Sri Lanka Mirror’ this is how he elaborated his search.

Hello! Thank you for your time. What's going on these days?

Recently, we were engaged in recordings of concerts. These days are quite packed with the 'Love U' concert, the lilac evening at the garden of Eden.

IndrachapaL1 600px 16 02 12What distinguishes this concert?

This is a concert with a different theme... A different rhythm... Also, there is much experimenting to uncover the outcome of the vocal blend involved. Instead of trying to explain it, I invite all to join us on February 14 and embrace the romance in the air. It will be a different experience.

Can you elaborate on the blend of these unique voices?

Kasun, Nadeeka and myself were involved in several projects in the recent past. However, this concert involves two others from two generations. Rookantha can be identified as an idol of a certain era in music. Also, Umaria is one of the most talented female vocalists of recent times. A new rhythm will be created with these two greats. I believe this blend will be success.

Any special reason why we didn't see any musical work with you and Kasun recently?

It was just the both of us who initially started to work together. We worked together for around two albums. Then, we were unable to do any recordings together. However, we joined for other projects. At one time, we sang songs of two generics. The generics of our songs are different that's why no songs collaborated by Kasun and myself surfaced recently. However, we still work together.

Your tracks mostly border on romance.. How do you feel about the blend between music and love?

People desperately need love. I believe that love should exist where there is a dialogue. People cannot move ahead without love. For me, music is the most important thing in my life... It goes beyond my profession... It is actually the drive of my life.

Even I am searching for a drop of love. Not feeling at least a drop of love is a sorry state. I think everyone should embrace and experience love. At least a drop of love.

(Indrachapa Liyanage, as well as Rookantha Gunathilake, Kasun Kalhara, Nadeeka Jayawardena and Umariya Sinhawansa, will be singing at 'Love U', this valentine’s day at the Nelum Pokuna, Colombo from 7pm onwards.
