Nadeeka, as well as Rookantha Gunathilake, Kasun Kalhara, Indrachapa Liyanage and Umariya Sinhawansa will be singing at ‘Love U’ - a magical night of soothing music for lovers of music, this valentine’s day at the Nelum Pokuna, Colombo from 7pm onwards.
‘Sri Lanka Mirror’ caught up with Nadeeka for a quick chat amid his preparations for the show.
Hello! Thank you for your time. How is life and work these days?
Well..I have hopes to do several tracks this year as well as some new tracks.
What do you think of music and love?
It cannot be talked of as simply music and love. Art and love has always been connected. It's human emotions that emerge as pieces of art. Jealousy, hate... all these are included in art. I think the bond between art and emotions is a very strong one.
Do you think visuals are deemed more important than the music itself?
It is also something that changes from time to time. In the past, the only media to unveil music was radio. Now, TV media has entwined visuals with the music. Different things happen in different modes of media and such factors change over time... I think we have to accept that.
What will you be engaged in on Valentine’s Day?
I will be singing at the ‘Love U’ concert at Nelum Pokuna. We have always attempted to give our fans a different and new experience. The experience at different concerts is different. This concert is carefully planned... even the music. I think it is better for fans to experience it firsthand rather than describing it myself.
Will you 'reveal your heart' then?
Yes. Definitely i will.
