Disney looks for Moana

Disney looks for Moana

In the wake of raging success of the movie Frozen, which was launched last year, Walt Disney Animation Studios are doing the South Pacific for their next big hit.

If you have the confident voice of a young Polynesian girl and can sing strongly and don't mind working with "The Rock" Dwayne Johnson, you could be a Disney star.

Disney is currently seeking for applicants to play the heroine of their forthcoming animated musical comedy, "Moana."

The movie, set 2000 years ago, is about a spirited teenager who learns that the future of her people is in jeopardy.

"Along with a lovable pot-belly pig and a legendary hero, Moana searches for a mythical island, traversing the open ocean and encountering mystical sea creatures and underworlds on an action-packed quest to save her world and make her ancestors proud."

The brief for Moana's voice is a girl aged 14 to 18, who is smart, passionate, and funny, they say.

Meanwhile, Fast & Furious Star - Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has tweeted that he's clearing his singing pipes to prep for his new role: the voice of Maui, a Hawaiian demi-god, in "Moana."

This is the first role announced from the film, which is due out in 2016.
