The cinematic creation revolves around the story of the deity Patthini Devi with the main role taken up by Pooja Umashankar, who also played the main lead in Prof. Ariyaratne's 'Kusa Pabawathi' movie.

The cast includes Uddika Premaratne, Aruni Rajapakshe, Veena Jayakody, Ravindra Randeniya, Sanath Gunatillake, Lucky Dias and Jayalath Manorathna.

'Patthini' is Prof. Ariyaratne's 20th cinematic direction and the 6th movie of Sumathi Films.

Milini Sumathipala joins as the producer of the film. She was also the producer of Prof. Ariyaratne's movie - 'Uthpalawanna'.
