From the 3rd of June until the French Bastille Day on the 14th of July, the French Spring 2016 will showcase a variety of events from several branches of art including music, dance, visual arts, photography, urban art, culinary, literature and cinema.
Following from last year’s projects - and especially the series of “Focus on Climate Change” in the run up to the Paris Conference on Climate change (COP 21), this year’s festival will give special attention to promoting sustainable practices, with a focus on heritage and sustainable development.
The announcement was made at a press briefing held in Colombo yesterday (31) and was attended by Ambassador of France - Jean-Marin Shuh, Cultural Counsellor of the French Embassy (Sri Lanka & Maldives) - Michel Treutenaere, Additional Secretary to the ministry of Internal Affairs, Wayamba Development and Cultural Affairs of Sri Lanka - Bernard Wasantha and General Manager of Galle Face Hotel - Antony G. Paton.
