CB loses Rs. 32 b due to loans to govt. Featured

The government had obtained credit from the Central Bank on seven occasions in 2015, reports say.

As a result, the CB has incurred a loss of Rs. 32 billion.

Meanwhile, the SAARC fund will disburse part of the loan sought by the government from India.

The loan is given on condition that the Sri Lankan government agreed to sign ITCA.

JVP MP Sunil Handunnetti made these exposures in a speech to parliament today (24).
