Janashakthi partners for National Civilian Bravery Awards

A leading insurance provider in Sri Lanka, Janashakthi Insurance PLC has announced its partnership with the Foundation for Civilian Bravery Sri Lanka for the National Civilian Bravery Awards.

The announcement was made at a press event in Colombo yesterday (26), which was attended by distinguished guests including Janashakthi founder - Chandra Schaffter, MD - Prakash Schaffter, CEO - Jude Fernando and the President / founder of the Foundation for Civilian Bravery Sri Lanka - Kasun Chandraratne.

Conducted for the 22nd year, the National Civilian Bravery Awards invites civilians from across Sri Lanka to apply or nominate another candidate for acts of bravery between Jan 01 , 2015 - Dec. 31, 2015.

Applications can now be collected from the Foundation for Civilian Bravery and from all Janashakthi branches island-wide. Applications will be accepted until March 31, 2016 and afterwards winners will be selected by a panel of judges based on evidence submitted with the application and face to face interviews.

Speaking, President / founder of the Foundation for Civilian Bravery Sri Lanka - Kasun Chandraratne said, "On a daily basis, civilians across Sri Lanka go unnoticed for various acts of bravery... It is our objective, therefore, to provide a platform for these individuals to be recognised at a national level."

Adding, Managing Director of Janashakthi - Prakash Schaffter said that it is a great pleasure for Janashakthi to partner with the Foundation for Civilian Bravery Sri Lanka for the Janashakthi National Civilian Bravery Awards as they "believe it is an ideal forum to recognise those who do great acts of bravery fir the welfare of others."
