Following three years of international training and practical experience in fashion manufacturing, Gihan is currently focusing on woven garment designs in bulk production.
Speaking on his work, Gihan says that the most important step in his work is maintaining quality.
In addition to fashion manufacturing, Gihan is to initiate a project which falls to a different of the fashion industry. To be specific, a school for budding models in Sri Lanka.
Speaking on this initiative - 'Walk with Gihan Dassanayake', Gihan says he feels that the local fashion industry still needs to evolve and that it is vital to increase the demand for home grown professional models through proper training.
The six-month course long course covers several key subject areas including Fashion concept and product marketing, Model history, Model concept of development, Runway walking styles, Advanced poses as well as beauty, health and fitness. Practical assignments including photoshoots and fashion show programmes are also included in the course.
