The announcement was made at an event in Colombo yesterday (16).

Speaking, managing Director of Tilko hotels - Thilak T. Thilagaraj said that Sri Lanka is blessed with natural resources.

However, he also stressed that entrepreneurs of Jaffna such as himself face many issues in the region which needs to be addressed. He stressed the lack of a proper, affordable civil aviation travel on a daily basis, the lack of coordination and support from local authorities as major drawbacks.

However, he lauded the Tourism officials in Colombo for their support and said that he feels that special attention should be given to Jaffna for the region to 'catch up with the rest of the country' after decades of war and to overcome poverty.

The event was attended by many dignitaries including Sudath Chandrasekara - private secretary to Ranil Wickremesinghe.
