The shuffle has seen to the removal of Krishantha Cooray and Feroz from the SLT Director Board and Thusitha Haloluwa from the Mobitel Director Board.

They were appointed by minister Mangala Samaraweera, while he was functioning as the Telecommunications minister during the tenure of the 100-day government.

However, Nilanthi Peiris, who was also appointed by minister Samaraweera, remains in the SLT Director Board.

Meanwhile, it is reported that Laugfs Gas chairperson - W.K.H. Wegapitiya has been appointed to the SLT Director Board while Rosy Senanayake's son - Kanishka Senanayake has been appointed to the Mobitel Director Board.

Kanishkaa has been named by the present Telecommunications minister - Harin Fernando.

The changes have been informed by the President's secretary, 'Sri Lanka Mirror' learns.

SLT is chaired by Kumarasinghe Sirisena, the brother of President Maithripala Sirisena. Recent media reports cited that Mr. Kumarasinghe has had several clashes with the Directors of SLT and Mobitel.
