Govt agrees to grant 41% Golden Key deposits

Deputy Solicitor General Viraj Dayaratna today (18) stated that the government has agreed to grant 41% of the deposits of the depositors at Golden Key company.

Making submissions to the Supreme Court today, the Deputy Solicitor General said that the government agreed to grant those who have deposited two million rupees or less – within a month – two million rupees to ten million rupees – within two months – and to those who have deposited over 10 million rupees, within a year.

The case was heard before a five-judge bench in the Supreme Court.

The Deputy Solicitor General add that the cabinet report on this decision will be submitted to court by July 25.
