Romesh tries to hoodwink PM

Romesh tries to hoodwink PM Featured

Skyline Aviation owner Kurukulasuriya Anthony Romesh Fernando is making an attempt to become friendly with the prime minister in order to import, without paying import duty, two more light aircraft to the country, according to reports reaching Sri Lanka Mirror.

SLM has already exposed Fernando as a person who had committed a tax fraud during the previous Rajapaksa regime.

His close connections with Rajapaksa enabled him to cover up all his frauds.

Started in 2006 under the Nipayum Sri Lanka 300 enterprises programme, Skyline has enjoyed tax concessions for the past eight years by misleading the Board of Investment by giving a false promise to open a pilot training school in Weerawila.

It presently has a pilot training school at No: 104/3, New Airport Road, Ratmalana.

Recently, Romesh tried to become friendly with PM Ranil Wickremesinghe in order to import two light aircraft, and the go between was Prasanna Jayawardena, of Sri Lanka Cricket.

Tiran’s game

MP Tiran Alles is said to be a close friend of Romesh, while Alles’ son engages in business activities with Tiran’s son, it is said.

Reports said the Alles family will fund the buying of the two aircraft by Romesh.
