EU reduces GSP+ conditions

EU reduces GSP+ conditions Featured

The European Union has brought down, from 56 to 16, the conditions Sri Lanka should meet to regain the GSP+ export concession, according to minister Ravi Karunanayake.

This development will bring the country closer to getting the facility once again, he says.

The final word on regaining GSP+ could be announced within the next two months, he says.

The EU has reduced the number of attached conditions in consideration of the present government’s conduct, the minister adds.
