Dialog to ensure uninterrupted communication in flood affected areas

In the wake of the flood disaster in the country, communications giant, Dialog has decided to take up several initiatives to ensure uninterrupted communication to those in the affected areas.

The measures will be a relief to the affected civilians as well as relief workers in the area.

Speaking to 'Sri Lanka Mirror', a Dialog spokesperson said elaborated on these measures as follows :

"As a first step, we have provided enhanced credit limits for all our post-paid customers, and have also provided the pre-paid customer base with the facility to request Emergency Credit - ensuring our customer base of 10.5 million remain connected without having to visit a store or outlet. Customers in flood affected areas requiring additional credit facilities due to exceptional circumstances may request for same, following the consumption of the initial emergency credit."

"Over and above these initiatives, SMS services are enabled free of charge for customers in flood affected areas who have no call credit balance available," the spokesperson said.

"Dialog is also providing concessionary and free communication services to relief workers attached to Government and non-government relief agencies," he added.

"In addition to above, Dialog is joining hands with all customers to extend a helping hand to those who are severely affected from floods by launching a donation programme. Under this programme customers can donate Rs. 50 for Flood Relief by sending a SMS to 7700 (with the key word DON) . Dialog will Triple the donation by adding Rs. 100 and donate Rs. 150. These funds will be disbursed via the Disaster Management Centre (DMC). Customers also have the option of sending multiple SMS to donate.”
