Former chairperson of the Association - Lakshmi Victoria is to chair the interim committee while Jayanthi Somasekaran will function as secretary.

Former chairperson - Trixie Nanayakkara, Principal of Visakha Vidyalaya - Sandamali Aviruppola, Kasthuri Wilson, Shevan Perera and Sumithra Wanasinghe are other committee members.

The appointment of an interim committee comes as the association faces elections on April 25.

Sports Associations have already been informed to call for nominations, reports add.

According to authorities, the interim committee has been appointed to prepare the team for the upcoming Netball World Championship.

Chithrani Pathiraja, Sakunthala Wijesinghe, Thisangani Shanmuganathan, Rohini Perera and Seetha Ramani were also appointed to the committee.
