Located near Aranayake in Kegalle District in central Sri Lanka, the rock is better known as the the "Bible rock" among Westerners as its flat surface appears like a open book/bible.

It also resembles the more famous Sigiriya citadel due to its prominent flat top surface.

The site, which attracts many climbers and pleasure seekers also hosts a temple at the top and breathtaking views.
