Sanga's emails expose Nishantha-Mahindananda plot Featured

Former cricket captain Kumar Sangakkara has revealed of a plot hatched by former Sports minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage and SLC secretary Nishantha Ranatunga, in order to tarnish his reputation.

In a series of emails sent to SLC Operations Director - Carlton Bernardus, Sangakkara elaborates several facts pertaining to the 2013 Champions League tournament.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad as well as the Kandurata Maroons, two franchises which Sangakkara is a part of, had qualified for the tournament.

Sangakkara alleges that although the SLC Selection committee had initially permitted him to play for the Sunrisers Hyderabad, the SLC Secretary and then Sports minister had prevented it.

He further says that they have intentionally attempted to publicly embarrass him by saying he had to choose between money or playing for the country when it came to the champions league.

Sangakkara says that he was quite dejected and pressurised over the matter.
