The CID has found parts of two Defender jeeps said to have been used in the abduction of 11 youths in Trincomalee in 2009.

The vehicle parts were located during a search of the Welisara Navy camp following a court order last week.

Also found were parts of a motor cycle belonging to an abducted youth who had later been murdered.

The CID has revealed that the vehicles used for these crimes had been taken apart and their documents made to disappear in a cover-up attempt.

With permission from courts, these vehicle parts have been sent to the government analyst for a report.

The CID has also obtained statements from several Navy intelligence men accused of having run a secret mission centre at the Trincomalee Navy camp to kidnap students and other people to obtain ransom.

Three top officers of the Navy are accused in the abduction and killing of 28 Tamil and Muslim youths.

The CID has so far obtained statements from 74 Navy officers.
