In their wide-ranging interaction, they also discussed ways of increasing opportunities for Sri Lanka to participate in UN peacekeeping missions.

After meeting Ambassador Power Minister Samaraweera participated in a dialogue hosted by the Swedish Permanent Representative to the UN with members of the UN Peace-building Commission.

The dialogue focused on ways of supporting Sri Lanka's post-conflict transition and peace-building efforts, including means of realizing the 'peace dividend'.
