Around 10,000 employees of the banking sector have joined the protest and there is a heavy traffic congestion in the area, our reporter says.

The protest demonstration is being held against certain proposals of the 2016 Budget.

Speaking, Executive member of the Bank of Ceylon employees' trade union - Keshara Kottegoda says that employees of 08 state banks and 12 private banks have joined today's protest demonstration.
