Speaking at the rally, Rajapaksa warned that this was only a test, and doom would spell for the government at their next protest.

The occasion gave a lesson for opposition MPs how to struggle to gain power, said Rajapaksa.

Only the CID, FCID and the bribery commission are there to assist the present regime, he said, adding the people would not be deceived by them.

By this protest, the government should consider as to what extent they had suffered defeat in a short period of one year and eight months after electing to office, according to him.
