Sri Lanka Cricket Executive Committee arrived at this decision yesterday (02) to generally safeguard spectator comfort inside spectator areas of the stadium. However, this does not mean that the papare bands are banned.

This ban is to be implemented at the 3rd ODI in Hambantota today.

The general public are warned that any such items would be confiscated by security personnel.

Meanwhile, Mahela Jayawardena has requested to be excused from the 3rd ODI owing to personal reasons. His request has been approved by the National Selectors, who have  nominated Ashan Priyanjan to replace him.
