The television channel CSN, owned by the family of deposed President Mahinda Rajapaksa, is likely to lose out on its right to host the Cricket World Cup following the company's failure to settle payments with overall telecast rights holder ESPN.

The end result could be that State television Rupavahini may procure the rights to telecast World Cup matches.

Gihan Samaranayake, the head of the sports section of CSN told srilankamirror that discussion are currently taking place with ESPN to resolve the matter.
