Old Thomians pressurize selectors

Old Thomians pressurize selectors Featured

Selectors are under pressure to include players of S. Thomas College, Mt. Lavinia and SSC be included in the under-19 team, according to reports reaching Sri Lanka Mirror.

This is because no past player of the school has been included in either the national team or the junior team for some time now.

The pressure is being exerted by U-19 manager Mahinda Halangoda and old Thomians in the Sri Lanka Cricket executive committee, reports say.

Halangoda has been appointed to the position in order to get votes for SLC president Thilanga Sumathipala at elections.

His appointment has been made against former national team manager Michael de Soyza of the SSC, who is opposed to Sumathipala.
