The Annual General Meeting of the Football Federation (FFSL) of Sri Lanka which was scheduled to be held tomorrow (December 14) has been put on hold following an order granted by the Appeal court.
Judges MCA Madawala and Leon Seneviratne issued the order to outlaw the Meeting yesterday (December 12).

It follows a petition submitted to the District Court of Colombo by the Football Federation's legal committee head Thilina Panditharatne and member Sepala Perera

Both Panditharatne and Perera submitted a petition on the conduct of the FFSL's AGM in the District Court of Colombo on December 10 which had been rejected and hence their decision to seek the intervention of the Appeal court.

The two men cited in the Petition that the FFSL had not got the approval of the Auditor General to conduct the AGM which was also in violation of its Constitution concerning procedure.
President of the FFSL Ranjith Rodrigo was cited in the Petition as the chief respondent.

Attorney at Law Palitha Kumarasinghe appeared on behalf of Rodrigo while Ali Sabri and Navin Marapona represented Panditharatne and Perera respectively.
