Lasith Malinga to rest for 6 months

The report with regard to the leg injury of Sri Lankan bowler Lasith Malinga was submitted to Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) yesterday (26) by the SLC Medical Committee.

In this report recommendations were made that Lasith Malinga should take rest for six months, said the SLC Secretary Mohan de Silva.

According to the report Malinga will not have to undergo any other surgery and it was recommended that MRI scan should be taken after three months to examine the percentage of recovery.

Medical Committee has further recommended that Malinga undergo a Muscle Rehabilitation Program in order to develop the muscle of the injured leg.
