Retiring IGP opens police station at hometown

N.K. Illangakoon, who retires tomorrow (11) after five years as the IGP, opened a police station at his hometown, Kanathiriyanwala at Pinnawala in Imbulpe today.

It is the 443rd police station in the country and the 26th in Ratnapura district.

Speaking on the occasion, Illangakoon said the concept of the police was to make someone who had committed a crime a good person.
